Alister Benn has been running workshops and expressive retreats since 2012 and has huge experience in helping each participant to find their own unique take on a given place. He has a wealth of knowledge in both composition, technical captures, filters, multiple exposure, creative and expressive post-processing, and enjoys a good laugh at the same time. Amazing workshop experience with Alister in Spain January 2023! His workshop was so well planned. Alister handled shuttle service and organized wonderful accommodations at all of the locations. We enjoyed meals together and discussed our images and how we thought the days shooting had gone. I came back with many wonderful memories, new friends and so many great images! I am looking forward to doing another workshop with Alister in Scotland in 2024.
This was my first workshop and all I can say is I hope they are all this amazing! We were in Iceland and Alister took us to lots of beautiful locations and the weather was perfect! I was able to see a volcano erupt and watch the northern lights! Both bucket list items! I learned a lot from Alister and the other group participants. I’m looking forward to doing another workshop with Alister!
Excellent workshop in Scotland. It was full of insight, learning, and laughter! The scenery and atmosphere of the Outer Hebrides was unique, rugged, and beautiful. As a repeat participant in Expressive Photography workshops — Alister continues to help me find my voice and approach to photography.
